Cumbria Trading Standards are warning both the farming community and local residents in South Lakeland to look out for doorstep callers after an incident was reported in the Cartmel area earlier in the year
Individuals are visiting farms and offering tarmac for sale stating that they have “left overs” after working on the local highway. Trading Standards advice is to always say ‘NO’ to any cold callers and we ask that you look out for elderly or vulnerable family, friends and neighbours.

As the main summer season approaches hopefully we will continue this fine weather with a smattering of rain to help our gardens. I hope to see you all on the Grange Playing Fields on Sunday 12th August when I will be helping out yet again with the Dales and Lakes Historic Vehicle Show. This is the 22nd year of the Show which was instigated by our renowned late Town Clerk Frank Brooks.
At our recent Health and Wellbeing meeting in Grange Library we agreed to extend the time to return the questionnaire that went out with Grange Now. In an attempt to receive more comments the group will be on the County Council Fostering Stand at Cartmel Show on Wednesday 1st August with additional questionnaires to complete.
I hope to see as many of you as possible at the Show which is one of the best attended and popular single day Agricultural shows in the North of England.
